How To Put On Nail Decals

Reading Inventory 2009 "A place called Oreja de Perro" (Iván Thays, 2008)

know two habits of trauma. One is amnesia, forgetting that it is not opposed to the past but replaces it with an anesthetic and empty memorial. The other is the contention of the memory in its supposed fulfillment.

Thays's novel does not underestimate or overlook these customs. There are, for the first case, a man who loses his memory and learn Chinese after killing his wife and son in a car accident. And, for the second, a Commission of Truth spread evidence of terrorism in Peru in the '80s and distributes money to local farmers hardest hit.

As evidenced by the number of pages devoted to them (about 26/224) flirts with them, are appointed, the bank and, finally, never detonate. Perhaps should I succumb to the ineptitude of the veil and reproduction?

True heroes Beanfield Oreja de Perro traumatized beings: a journalist who lost her son and was abandoned, then by his wife, the young pregnant woman (why rape ?) who speaks with angels and daughter missing. But while psychological gender predisposes crowding into the troupe of the victims, they prefer something else ... There is something in the format of their memories and forgetfulness, a modesty, a daring -much more productive and less tolerable to consciousness, which resists the alienation and distance from what they are overwhelmed.

And is that what really matters to Thays is not justice for the injured (say, the reporter found a good love, the rapist member or misplaced your mother's unburied remains are found ) but the responsibility in the use of trauma and its raw material, or better: the announcement of its possibility.

While the bad taste of some Freudian plan on the figure of trauma, groups and individuals continue to abuse their advantages, purified in the quiet pose of the victim. Clearly, however, that some of that strategy capture the subject in a kind of passivity and sterilizes any action on the report, their meanings and renovations.

If A place called Dog Ear is primarily a complaint is because the characters deny that some governments, corporations and individuals perpetuate, because they recognize (not sectioned) to block offending history, because they choose the meaning to complacency and understanding responsible to placebo.
